Technical Writer- Junior

Our Federal Government client is looking for a SKILLED Technical Writer for a long term contract. For consideration, applicants must have an Enhanced Security Clearance.

Resource MUST have a degree from a recognized university in one of the following fields:

  • Building engineering
  • Mechanical engineering
  • Civil engineering
  • Electrical engineering
  • Computer engineering
  • Science
  • Mathematics
  • Architecture or other fields specialty relevant to the duties.

Resource MUST have a minimum of three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years using the Microsoft Office Suite advanced tools such as macros programming.

Resource MUST have a minimum of one (1) year of experience developing, reviewing, validating and/or testing technical procedures and documentation aimed at various audiences.

Resource MUST have a minimum of one (1) year of experience analyzing information from various sources to ensure technical compliance with programs, standards, codes or requirements. Qualified and selected candidates will undergo a skill assessment interview.

Resource is to demonstrated his/her understanding of the knowledge below by describing how VBA can be used to automate tasks and validate data entry in the MS Office suite, including the Excel software and management of datasets.

a)      Knowledge of the Visual Basic Application (VBA) language b) Knowledge of Excel and management of datasets

and concisely demonstrated his/her understanding and knowledge of:

  1. Building principles applied to Canadian low-rise residential buildings by describing the main items of the ENERGY STAR for New Homes or the R-2000 Standards (To be clearly provided in the technical proposal). 

EnerGuide Rating System (ERS) for homes by describing the main items of the EnerGuide Rating System (ERS)

Resource is to clearly and concisely demonstrate his/her understanding and knowledge of:

  1. Building principles applied to Canadian low-rise residential buildings .
  • Energy efficiency in housing by describing key aspects

The resource will be required to describe the purpose of HOT2000 and what can be modelled

  1. Experience of HOT2000
